This channel is amazing!  I haven't taken math for 6 years, and am getting thrown straight into analytical chemistry and physics.  Having cartoons really helps!  Never too old for cartoons.

In an alternate reality, where the Bongo-Ponganians never meet the Cocolocians:

They realize that the third symbol could also represent the amount of ☺☺s, so ☺☺ + | would equal | | |, or 900 + 30 + 1, and that could be continued.

5:54 - The Japanese system is exactly the same! For example「三十一」is 3(三)times 10(十)plus 1(一), totalling 31.

And...
*Z O R T A N*
(30, XXX or 三十 for non-Cocolocians)

6:22 If the Cocoloconians weren't intervened by the Bongoponganians, I think that number system would develop into a full blown bijective base 30 system.
P.S. 1, 000 would be 1, 3, 10 (⍿┌┴ /zup.dop.ni.tʃi/)

Are these ancient practices of numbers actually real? Or a hypothetical example?

I think the invention of combining symbols is what caused us to go astray historically. We were better off thinking of quantity concretely as sense perception.

The numbers we use today, are called Arabic numbers, first invented by the Arabs. 0 was invented by the Indians, Arabs FTW!
