Looks like it's kind of IIT/AIIMS/IAS equivalent to Indian Americans .

I come from a Bengali background and I can tell you easily that a lot of these Indian or Desi kids were forced and/or pressured to get into this by the parents. I honestly feel really bad for the kids who are only doing this cause of the parents and aren't actually that competitive themselves.

People have negative attitudes for spellers or their parents but if a child puts in same amount of time in football, basketball, or any other sports, these same people would admire the person or their parents' dedication. And for all those who think it is parents forcing, try forcing your child to do anything day in and day out. Has it worked for you? NO.. I admire these amazing families. I could never put in that kind of effort even if my kids were that talented because I am lazy that way, I guess.

Next, one about speech and debate??? It’s really overlooked, and there’s so much more to it than people think!! It really is one of the best things you can be involved in!

Netflix, why would I EVER find a series about spelling interesting??

NOTE: I did not mean to offend any people who find spelling interesting. This is simply my honest opinion on this... so, yah. Good day i guess lol

I remember when in 3rd Standard, I was not so great at English and Hindi dictation. But one day, just randomly one day I thought before an English dictation test, 'I am going to answer all of these correctly' and relied on sounds and pronunciation to form the words. And since then I have mostly aced all dictation tests. I'm not even kidding
