I don't think college prepares people for jobs, that's why so many kids graduating can't get a job! There are a lot of other courses besides your major too that you have to take that help "educate" you as you're talking about. But don't get me wrong, I think college can be a huge waste of money, and school does not equal education. And most importantly, any mother can homeschool her children successfully. I actually think the mothers who got a teacher's education are at a disadvantage because they tend to try to reproduce school at home and have a harder time seeing the full potential of homeschooling.

I agree that you shouldn't trust a Catholic school. My husband went to a Catholic school and 50% of his classmates had children out of wedlock. Utter failure as far as I'm concerned. We didn't decide to homeschool because we wanted to model one of our families, we are the only ones living this way. We chose it because I don't want someone else raising our kids.
