Tuesday, Aug. 23, will be a calm and cloudy day in Charlotte, North Carolina. Forecaster Larry Sprinkle says the Queen City will see warm temperatures in the 80s with little to no chance for rain. Even better news is the dew points will be lower this week in North Carolina and South Carolina, meaning it won't be as muggy across the Charlotte metro. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-to-upper 80s, around 87 degrees.

Wednesday-Friday:

Low rain chances continue on Wednesday. However, shower and storm chances will increase towards the end of the week. Temperatures will warm up into the mid/upper 80s each afternoon.

Tropical Update

Just three weeks from peak hurricane season, there's a tropical wave off the coast of Africa. The system has a low chance of further development as it moves west closer to land near the Caribbean region.

The National Hurricane Center expects atmospheric conditions to be marginally favorable for development this week. They're giving the system a 30% chance over the next five days. #WakeUpCLT #Weather #Forecast
