If there was ever a single performance that defined a person as an actor, a dancer and a director, this is it. Pure Fosse from start to finish.

Can’t imagine how hard this was to do. All the different angles in the hot desert sun, in an all black suit. Poor Bob must have been dying.

WOW, looking at so many MJ's performance, I can see the moves of Billie Jean (2:33 3:29 4:33 5:25), Smooth Criminal (5:34 7:00), Dangerous (3:15), and other moves that he does when freestyling!! However, MJ has refined these moves a lot more. Bob Fosse's moves are like a snake (as his singing also suggests), while MJ is like a snapshot of each move when dancing.

Little trivia: the producers said to Bob Fosse, "Take that cig out of your mouth". Fosse: "No." The producers: "... ok."

Bob was phenomenal. So theatrical. Showbiz personified.

I'm 51 and I'd never heard of him, just found him by accident. Wow, what an amazing dancer. Effortless. Can see why MJ loved him.

Film makers must have loved him.
The cost of the set in this routine.
Zero.
The man was made of fluid.
Total respect Sir. 🙏

My mom has been telling me for years that MJ copied so many of Bob Fosse's moves and now I get why. Oh well, MJ had a good eye for talent.

I love the bit where he threw down a little sand as dancers will sometimes do on a stage. He's out in a desert where is nothing but sand.

This performance grows on you.
Every time i watch it, it just gets better and better.
Hollywood did peak in the 70s.

He was in his 50's when he did this after having been begged to do it. He had already had one major heart attack by this time as well but still drove himself like a rented mule to do this AND was also directing and choreographing another show at the same time. Amazing but that was Bobby, always working and striving for better. I think this was also his final movie performance as well. He always wanted to be a star performer like Gene Kelly but that didn't happen for him. Check out *All His Jazz* some time. It's a biography written about him not to be confused with the movie All That Jazz.

When you watch Bob Fosse move, even at this age, you finally see what all those dancers in his shows were after. I guess there can only be one master.
