His fluency in Portuguese is remarkable and it is curious and at the same time a pleasant surprise to hear him say the word "caraca", a typically carioca slang term for "gosh". On two different occasions I passed him on the famous Copacabana promenade, a neighborhood where he is a frequent visitor. I always remember his leading role in the French film "The Monk", in one of his most stupendous great performances. Congratulations Vincent!

French is obviously his strongest since he is French, but among the languages he had to learn, I'd say English and Portuguese sound his most comfortable, followed by Italian (though he was very young in this clip, and he married Monica Bellucci, so he probably picked up a lot on Italian), and Spanish is his weakest. You can hear that he bases a lot of his Spanish from Italian. At 1:03 "El mio mondo...sempre, " when in Spanish it should be "Mi mundo...siempre, " as well as 1:10 "Penso che" when it is "Pienso que." Also, he pronounces "cinema" the Portuguese way 1:08, indicating he definitely feels more comfortable with Portuguese, as well as Italian. His Brazilian Portuguese pronunciation was really good. I believe French people have an advantage when it comes to the nasal sounds and the uvular R of Portuguese, which Spanish and Italian speakers would struggle.
