I am an orchestra conductor and I really need to tell the time before and sometimes during my concert. And the most convenient option for me is a pocket watch! I can't bring a phone with me on stage. It's heavy, it's bulky, I turn it down before the performance and it stays in my dressing room. If I would wear a wrist watch, I had to take it down, because it's weight in my wrist is a burden. I don't wat it to drag too much of attention to my wrist either. So I settled down with a pocket watch. I wear a three piece suit so I don't need to button my coat, and the timepiece fits nicely in my jacket pocket. I prefer a small open face because there's nothing that can do damage to it and I place it in the pocket faced incide, towards me. I was quite impressed when I realised how much of attention to details was given in the past towards convenience.

Having had to check the time in a blackout, I discovered that the lid of a hunter can catch light and cast it on the face of the watch. Makes me wonder if that contributed to its popularity with the outdoors.

The half-hunter is definitely the style for me. Actually, I’m hoping for a pocket watch from my parents for Christmas. It’s in the style of half-hunter. Your videos have helped me so much

I recently purchased a 1924 18k open face Patek pocket watch. Honestly, I love them all.

That first half hunter was top shelf. I really like those big, bold Roman numerals.

I like the "Salesman" case. This was an open face on the front and the back so that a watch with a fancy movement could be shown off as well.

I only have one pocket watch which is a "skeletal" double hunter in silver and pewter with a movement that sounds and looks great.
I have never needed another.

I have two hunter pocket watches one black the other one is Sliver I'm hoping to get a office job at some point this year and I prefer a pocket watch because everytime that I everytime that I have a wrist watch on me I can get very anxious I will keep checking every single second to make sure that I'm not late

I prefer the open face watch because it weighs less and if you put it in your shirt pocket it does not look conspicuous by weighing the shirt down.

Looking for some advice: I got a nice vintage mechanical pocket watch from my grandad and have been winding it every day for 4 months so far. The habit is quite soothing. But I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and don't really want to take it with me to avoid ruining the metal with sun cream or sweat (it's a hot sunny place). Will it be ok for it to not get wound for 2 weeks?

Someone broke in my car and stole that watch
