Serious problems with the Milwaukee tools fish sticks and accessories. I've been using them for awhile now and wanted to share with you what I've found. Is it worth the price over super rods or klein tools?

I just bought this kit and have used the LSD kit for 7 years now. I’ve have three of the ends break off and so I’m hoping these are no worse. I don’t think I’ve ever used the chain.

These have been on my list for a while, and I hit a job yesterday that needed them. Just before pulling the trigger, I watched this video. When I got into my tool store (Montreal, Canada) the Milwaukee set was $280, the Klein set was roughly $250 for the equivalent, and then there was a set of ROK sticks - 10m for $20. Had I not watched this video, I may have been lured by the brand names, but instead I saved $260 and the knock-off $20 rods are perfect.

I have this kit, but have primarily used the low flex sticks to pull cable above suspended ceilings. I haven't used the ball chain adapter yet, and probably would only use the magnet. We buy ball chain by the foot from our local hardware store and will usually attach it to cheap, high flex rods, then if breaks, we're only out a couple of bucks. We've found using it in hollow walls will yield the best results, for insulated walls, we will normally use a metal or polyester fish tape with a loop of nylon pull string attached to the end so we can fish it out of the wall with a hook.

Same thing happened to me with the beads. Mine broke the first time I used them. Huge bummer because even here in the US they have a big price tag attached. Thanks for the vids man, keep up the great content

Milwaukee gave me the same kit to try out as they did for you. I use them on the daily for my electrical work here in New Zealand. I've had the exact same problem with the chain. Broke off four uses in with little to no effort. It was very handy untill this happened. Also on the high flex rods, I never had the end snap off but I did have the metal end pull completely off leaving this internal part. I have been able to super glue it back into place but that was alittle disappointing. Other wise I love the kit. Love the glow in the dark features as it makes it super easy to find in a ceiling space. Keep up the great work mate. Love the content you make.

I've only used klein. In the states klein is kinda the golden standard for many. No real complaints. I prefer a smaller one though and mainly just use my 9 ft one. It's small and fits inside my propac. I do commercial though so I'm alway having to go over stuff and zip tie every so many feet.

Have you played with the Ferret camera. It attaches onto the end of many different types of sticks and has a few attachments that twist on in front. Don't need it often but its something in my kit that i'm super glad i've got

I've been using the Labor Saving Devices Creep Zit rods for nearly 20 years. They work great. They are very flexible though which some people may not like. I've also started using Klein rods which are also nice.

What about a short bit of jack-chain zip tied to the Bullet attachment?

Mate, EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM with mine . Broke the bead chain second time I used it. AND snapped a HIGH FLEX stick but did not get the stick back only as I had two together going up into a wall cavity from underneath. So the thing snapped inside the wall with the bullet tip attached. So now I have NO STICK, NO BULLET TIP NO CHAIN AND CANNOT BUY THE ACESSORIES SEPARATELY. milwaulkie SERIOUSLY NEED TO FIX THESE ISSUES IF THEY WANT TO CALL THIS KIT TRADE QUALITY. Up until I lost the bullet tip(today) I used some jack chain on the end of the bullet tip, works much better than the the stupid beads they give you.

Like someone else said in the U.S. Klein is the golden standard and I’ve always used Klein sticks with no major issues. Mostly the Mid Flex Sticks and Ive been pretty hard on them. Never had an end snap off or a stick break, they also glow in the dark. Only problems I experienced was Their chain and magnet has exact same problem as the Milwaukee it seems, only lasted a couple days. Only other issue is most of their sets come in a plastic tube style case instead of the nice bag like Milwaukee’s and after a month or 2 you’ll be taping it up trying to keep it together.

used other versions of those bead like devices. They also break easy, not meant for heavy pulling.
