In 2015 Rooney has only six goals in the Premier League and three of these have come against one of the league’s doormats, Sunderland. Rooney’s struggles continued on Saturday with his team being held scoreless by Crystal Palace.

It is far below the standard you would expect from a player who is reputedly the 5th highest paid player in the world at over $450,000 per week and with a Manchester United career goal rate of close to one every two games.

In February 2014 Rooney signed a contract extension that will supposedly keep him at Old Trafford until June 2019. However that contract is beginning to look more like an anchor for Manchester United almost every time Rooney as taken to the pitch this season.

I always believe in wazza. Although he's been off form, he still needed to be on the pitch for his leadership. But now I think he just needed to be on the bench for few matches. He will come good after that. :)

He's playing shite because he's now supposed to be the leader and setting an example for everyone to follow. The captaincy is like a ball and chain for him, he should be able to do what he wants, when he wants and how he wants. That's when he's at his best.
