And they were even better over a 100 years ago. Model A has always been very special in design. The early ones were based on a larger scale models and had amazing base. The upper base was less good and the middle section was remarkable. Their nobility of sound can not be equaled by modern instruments.

Since when has New York/Long Island resumed making the A3 model?

The recording here was done too hot. You should record the sound with at least 12dB of headroom, and normailze the audio in post production before posting the video here. It was difficult to hear the sound in forte parts since the audio was clipped.
