The final boss in FF7R is Sephiroth and while he’s tough, he can be made a lot easier to beat with the right tips. The boss fight comes on the back of taking on Whisper Harbinger and the rest of his fate guardians. The Hell House fight is exactly how phase 3 Sephiroth works. When he is in Wind infusion, lightning increases his stagger bar. Hit him with Fire during ice infusion, wind during lightning infusion, and ice during fire infusion.

I’m literally about to throw my controller I died at his boss fight and when I wanted to click retry it gave me 2 options and I didn’t know which one to click so I clicked one and it brought me all the way back to the beginning so I’m not playing ff7 for a couple days cuz that pissed me tf off

i’ve been stuck on this all day today and I just can’t beat him man. Maybe I have the wrong materia or equipment or something but I literally cannot beat him past phase 3. He slowly kills off my whole team and finishes us all on one move its insane. I’m on normal and it’s so frustrating. I can’t counterattack or parry for the life of me and can’t dodge any fucking attacks. My whole fucking team just dies and I can’t finish him it’s so annoying.

Once you figure out his mechanics, it becomes a manageable battle.

I did not use any attack spells against him. Having the gotterdamerung is a bonus.

I opened up with a dodge on the incoming Fireaga, a punisher combo, Counterstance, then Limit Break. Instant Phase 2.

Beat him 2nd try while paused @ the 3 minute mark of this vid. Finished watching while the credits rolled. Good tips. I basically just parried/healed/used abilities and hit limit breaks. Didn't use many attack spells. The nostalgia is unmatched when you grew up playing the og. Shout to my uncle Anthony for getting me into it way back when. Your partners in phases 2 & 3 are different depending on who you bring in your party.

I uses Tifa & Barret to assist Cloud in Hard Mode & I just uses Curaga spell + Haste Spell without any offence spells in the whole fight.
I strongly suggest that Limit Break should uses to pressure Sephiroth 1st before staggered. U may staggers him later by uses Cloud's focused thrust, Tifa's Focused Strike & Barret's focused shot. This way also can staggers Sephiroth by twice or third times in the 3rd phase.

Thanks for that video. Blocking in punisher mode was a game changer for me. Turned out I got through entire game missing that move somehow. Until I got to the final battle that is. I was stuck but finally saw the end credits after applying it.

How do you have that red thing coming out of your sword as you swing it?

My first play through I got Barret and second Aerith, I think it all depends on you’re choices and from the sewers and who you favorite or not and through the play through, if I didn’t have that necklace for beating pride and joy .... no way lol, but I did put ice + element on cloud equipment so seph Healed me when I’m distant from him since in my playthrough he tend to use ICE a lot

Counter stance and blocking in punisher mode does wonders. It's even more satisfying do time the block of punisher mode's block upon attack.

When I can't time my dodges I just spam parry to lessen the damage from the spells

I e learned to use haste to build my AP gauge and counter with punisher mode. With Tifa having Cure materia keeping Cloud hild up and also having barrier equip to Tifa casting mana wall. To reduce damage. Areith with arcade ward (also Ray of judgement) while building your AP while Tifa is is using chakra and building up her attack gauge do give phy damage. Will help greatly
