I was there that day. What a special moment. I will never forget how wild the crowd got after that race! Heck, I had to look at pole to see who won! :-)

On this day, after this race, everyone was a Kevin Harvick fan, if only for one day!! This was one of the most storybook wins in Nascar history. For the 2nd time in Nascar history every pit crew of every team lined up to congratulate Kevin. The only other time this had happened was when Dale Earnhardt finally won the Daytona 500 after 20 seasons of trying.

Gordon was able to hold on because when he was racing in lower divisions (and even his first NASCAR cup races) he preferred a loose handling car until he switched to a more normal handling
