I like how they talk about Santos benching Ronaldo as if Portugal went on to win the WC when that happened. With or without Ronaldo playing, the entire team has to perform MILES better than they did at the WC if they want to play the final now. Ronaldo can be very useful in the right moments since he's proven he can score a goal from any point of the pitch. They should give him much more credit for being back at the Euros after what happened at the WC. The fact that he's almost 40 now and ready to give it all and try again is INSANE.

how did Portugal do against Croatia? Ronaldo didn't play and they played against a quality team and they looked hopeless up front. Goncalo Ramos is an average player. Leao and Felix are wingers. Ronaldo is the only quality striker they have. i don't expect him to start every game and play all 90 minutes, but he's still a very valuable player for this team.

Irish fan here, these pundits didn’t watch the game. Ronaldo was often tracking back to Irish midfield players to win the ball. Ronaldo created chances and played amazing forward passes to others. Ronaldo picked up the ball in midfield and made darting runs into the box. As for his goals, Ronaldo beat Liam Scales (a champions league defender) and fired a rocked past a Goalkeeper who played 20 games for Liverpool this season. He gave Jake O’Brien (Olympique Lyons best defender) a difficult time for 90 mins.
