In a series of suicide attacks in northeastern Nigeria, at least 18 people were killed and 19 others were left severely injured on June 29. The attacks targeted a hospital, a wedding, and a funeral. All three attacks were carried out by women suicide bombers. The region has been struggling for more than a decade due to violence by the Boko Haram group. While the group did not immediately claim responsibility for the recent attacks, it has frequently used young women and girls to carry out suicide missions.
