sony a6000 shits on t6i. for real shit like colors and stuff, sony is much more superior. for "aesthetically pleasing" touch screen canon t6i wins. but lets be real here, sony gives you much more potential. and not to mention the sony's autofocus is one of the best in the world

one disadvantage that contradicts the advantage of the small sized sony, is that the small size with so much going on inside causes the sony to overheat after about 11 minutes of filming. this is difficult if ur planning on a full day of shooting and have to keep turning off the camera to let it cool every 10 minutes

I've shot canon for the last 6 years, And LOVE them, bit the bullet and got an a6000, first camera had a faulty lens, 2nd camera had a faulty lens! Now I have the bundle with the 55-200mm lens. And it's working.

Pros:
1. Continuous auto focus is wicked fast!
2.programmable buttons
3.shoots 60fps at 1080 for video
4. Shoots 11fps on auto, paired with back button auto focus, its great!
5. OLED viewfinder is crisp and displays menu as well
6. Lightweight and small
7.NFC and Wifi sharing is quick with the play memories app

Cons:
1.display is small and not as crisp as canons
2. Display is tilt only
3.battery life is OK
4.NO MIC INPUT!!!
5.Weak stock flash
6.ergonomics(I love how the canons fit in my hand)
7.native lenses are a bit more pricey than canon

I'm on the verge of taking this camera back to get a T6i. I have always had good experiences with canons customer service also. And they have a promotion going on right now, buy a rebel and get a year of free accident protection...

Hey - this is the exact conflict I was facing a month ago: Canon t6i VS Sony A6000. It's a tough one.
I CHOSE THE A6000. It took me almost a month to make that decision.

Why - Because I use my camera for travel!
Quality wise - they're the same (actually, Sony's sensor is better in low light).
Feature wise - the canon got a touch screen, fully tilting screen and true viewfinder. I guess I can survive without these.
Size wise - the a6000 is smaller, lighter, easier to carry around.
Price - Same.

Then, I realized that the camera I'd probably use more, the one I'd probably have with me all the time, is the smaller one! And again - they'll both give me the same result in the end which is an amazing quality image. So I chose the sony.

And as for the lenses - they're not that expansive anymore. It's true that the selection isn't as big, but photographers who purchase such a camera probably won't purchase more than one or two lenses in the next decade or so. I'll purchase a sigma 30mm or 50mm prime in a year or so....and those primes cost just as much as canon's primes.

Anyway, size is a big matter, cause the reason I purchased the camera is to capture those moments I'd like to have the camera with me! (:

All Valuable insights, a 5-second blurb on a6000 vs. 3-minute elaboration on t6.

I've shot many Rebels on this line (not this one), I would say image quality down the line are about the same. If I have learned correctly, here are some of the advantages of the a6000 over the t6/t6i if you are not a beginner.

Focus peaking, zebra mode, Kelvin White Balance, Facial Focus recognition, 11fps 24mp 21 frame buffer for RAW+JPEG & 49 for Jpeg.) Things that needed to be considered.

Ease of use always tends to trump features for a beginner shooter. A6000 just has more features down the line.

Other Features on a6000: (I am r Better low light and high ISO performance (sony is very good at this) Higher Dynamic Range, better color depth.

Downsides to Sony a6000: worse battery life, digital viewfinder (which can be a plus but it is lower detail than live view and it sucks battery for sure), larger learning curve, 2 axis limited tilt screen.

Good Vid Matt! I chose the 750D over the A6000 after seeing them in store. I also loved holding the 750d grip vs. the sony. Good DSLR for a beginner and lens choices are plenty

Had a t4i then got the a6000 image quality there is no comparison. The sony a6000 blew it away that is why I sold all my canon gear. Image quality and focus speed is more important then flip screens.

Size and weight is obvious the Sony is a mirror less . The question is which one shoot better picture and videos and which one has more useful features

if you hardly want touch and tilting stuff you might go with canon t6i.
however performance wise sony a6k is the winner

I was hoping you were going to discuss the diff in fps and and shooting in 1080p at the various fps. What about all of the autofocus points on the a6000. I need answers to these questions!

I can't comment on the Canon because I haven't used one, but I will admit I have a bias towards Sony. Matt is right: You can use just about any lens you want with an adapter. If you don't care about manual focusing, adapters are next to nothing in relativity. He is also right about the LCD screen. My Sony A57 has a fully articulating LCD screen. I can even flip it inside out when storing it so it doesn't get scratched... but guess what... the Sony A7 can't. Why?? I really wish I could fully flip the LCD screen inside out so I can throw it in a bag and not worry about it.

I think 60fps on FullHD resolution will be a heavy reason to choose the Sony a6000 over the Canon T6i... And a lot of other options for video. It's a shame that Sony won't build a better display, articulated and tactil.

I am stuck between the 200d and the 750d and the thing that keeps me back from buying the 200d are the 9 auto focus points instead of 19...can somebody help me?or suggest some other beginner dslr, keep in mind i dont care much about video quality, i am gonna use it primarily for photography

You just judging 'em from physical factor.
So how 'bout the result?
How 'bout dynamic range? Burst shot? High ISO performance?

If you "judging" them just from one aspect, so you shouldn't say one of them is better than the other.
It's not fair, dude

Between a canon t6i and a canon eos m100, how do they compare? Would the m100 be similar to the Sony feat in this vid? The camera would be used for fitness videos, just mainly subject movement with the camera in one spot and occasionally some promo photos. Any input would be gladly appreciated thank you! My main concern is a flip out screen so I can see myself when I’m filming solo but which would be a better investment? The thing that really drew me to the m100 was the ease of the WiFi transfer to an iPhone.

I've been looking for a video comparing the autofocus of both but haven't found anything on it. Does anyone know which one has better autofocus?
