My nana in her early 80s still get up at 6 in the morning and cook the best dishes with her home grown veggies. I love helping her 😊

Feeling of having fruits and veggies from own garden is surreal. Food taste sweeter and you feel happy as hard work pays of by growing your own.

I miss living in the Caribbean for this reason!!! Miss having brekkie, standing under the mango tree, devouring mangoes till I'm full up. Maybe digging up some yams (not sweet potatoes lolz) for the next meal. Beans on the wire fence!!! I miss home

My granny’s garden was like this in England during the war there was not so much food so people were encouraged to grow more food at home even in the 90s so much of the food on the table was from the garden and the taste was amazing! Rest in peace my lovely Granny ❤Grandad misses you so much.

Having those homegrown vegetables at the backyard is such a flex, and those pomelos too. I’m getting jealous 🤨😂

I grew up w my Grandparents having a massive garden. It was SUCH a blessing. Its the reason I will be planting some fruits and veggies at my apartment. I got the okay from my apartment manager yesterday and I've been saving up seeds from the foods I buy. I've got a TON of bell pepper seeds so FOR SURE I'm growing those. I've also got some white onions so I'll plant the bottom 1/4 of the onion with attached roots next to the bell peppers. I also have canteloupe seeds but I have to see how much water and space they need. Medicinal herbs and flowers are one one planting area, with other plants and flowers in the other two. In the spot I got the okay to use, theres a dead cactus thats come up oit of the ground. I dont think it can be saved entirely, but I'm going to see if they can be salvaged in any way, and if it can, I'll try it. But other than some little rocks as ground cover, its basically an empty bed waiting to be watered, fertilized and planted in. I'm also going to figure out how to section part of it off for flowers. I think I'm going to do bell peppers on my balcony in a pot as well, that way if my neighbors in the complex (or amy seniors that live up against the complex, it's an all over 40 neighborhood. You have to be 55 to own or rent the home as the main occupant, but someone can live with you as long as they're over 40. If you need a caregiver obviously thats fine. My ex lived w his grandparents and helped take care of them when we were in our 20s. Theres a couple streets that are any age family housing, my Mom and I have had it for 29 years now. I might be one of the only people I know who only grew up in one house and didn't move until they were an adult. A lot of people seem surprised by that and I was surpised by THAT lol.

Here in England I have my own strawberry patch - I love picking them when it gets warm enough for them to redden ^^

Your channel makes me envious of life in a Vietnamese village sometimes. Fresh fruit and veggies all the time and tons of social opportunities.
