Spent 25 years in the Navy. Every time "Government Shutdown" came up, we were told we were on duty without pay if it happened. Maybe if our elected officials and their worker bees faced the same, it wouldn't ever come close.

The median salary in America is $54K. All “legislators” should get paid that, and suffer consequences ALL workers in America face: layoffs, no work-no pay, no arriving late or leaving early, getting fired for compromising your position. Oh, and restrictive term limits. No more becoming a millionaire on the tax payers’ dole. Two terms for everyone.

We don't need to incentivize our "representatives" to spend more money, faster. What's the point of the limits, if not to try to stop government when it exceeds the limit?

THAT ACT SHOULD SPECIFY THAT ONLY CONSTITUTIONAL CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS SHOULD ONLY BE PAID IN THE EVENT THE GOV'T SHUTS DOWN .
