An awesome story about the Barbie wheelchair: my daughter uses a wheelchair and a little girl (maybe 5) in our neighborhood that didn’t know us but has seen my daughter when we go on walks asked her mom to get her the Barbie one for her and one for my daughter! It warmed me heart how accepting they was of her!

I think if all adults could set aside the “age appropriate” title and play with toys, adults would be much happier and life would be funner!! Never lose the magic!!!!

I love that you get Abbie toys she loves and not what you would love her to have. She is growing in different ways on her own time! I see a huge change in her since last year! She’s being able to communicate more . She’s learning so much!

Im 19 and im super fine with my gifts being baby and toddler toys because they entertain me. Doesnt have to be “age appropriate” if i wont enjoy those toys or items. Also baby sections have lots more sensory toys! Target has some cool new ones for people who know not to chew on them

Asa, it is Christmas and along with the joy I think many people look back at what they have "lost" in their lives. The reality is for many there are tears on this day that are balanced by joy. Your sharing your family turning the "sadness" away when you select gifts for Ab now was so moving.

My daughter has that exact musical rhymes book that was in your cart. She's had it since she was 2 or 3 n she's 6 n still has it n still likes to play with it. Anything that plays music, makes noise or lights up.

Whatever brings joy to someone, I think is the best gift. Disregard societal “norms” or “expectations” for what is expected for age or gender appropriate gifts. You are amazing parents to both your children. I appreciate you sharing your story.
