Sea of Thieves PSA: Yardarm Uses- Riddle Maps & No Sway Spyglass

Today’s Sea of Thieves PSA of the Day we cover how SoT treats the yardarm like land. This is useful in two ways. First off when standing on the yardarm your view will not sway up and down making it easier while looking through the spyglass or eye of reach (sniper rifle). Secondly, if you are standing on the yardarm when approaching an island with a riddle map it will trigger the first step of the map.

When it comes to reducing sway standing on the yardarm is super useful. Anybody who enjoys using the eye of reach (sniper rifle) will enjoy not having to fight the sway of the boat While out at sea. Or if your just a lookout, fighting the sway of the boat can get annoying.

Triggering the first step of a riddle map is useful so you can tell where you want to land your ship. If it is a one-step riddle like in this video it can help you get to the treasure much faster.
