PBS Books and Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) are partnering on “Visions of America: All Stories, All People, All Places," This month’s conversation will premiere on August 16 at 8pm and commemorates the 75th anniversary of the desegregation of the Armed Forces. Led by IMLS Director Crosby Kemper, scholars Matthew Delmont, Ph.D. and Jeffrey Sammons, Ph.D. and Brigadier General Terry V. Williams will explore the important role that people of color played in the armed forces in American History.

PBS Books speaks with Prof. Sammons, author of Harlem Rattlers and the Great War: The Undaunted 369thRegiment and the African American Quest for Equality, to promote and bolster our upcoming conversation.
