On Tuesday, October 7th, crews from Taos Ski Valley completed splicing the lift haul rope on the new Kachina Peak lift. In an incredible show of teamwork, crews worked to splice together 35mm 6 strand wire rope with polycore to form a continuous loop, which will be the cable the new chairs will hang from.

After creating this splice, crews from TSV and SkiTrac hoisted and tensioned the haul rope onto the bullwheel and the electrical systems were wired into place. Lift chairs will be attached to the haul rope upon arrival this month, marking the finishing stages of the lift installation.
