I am under the assumption that Plex either won't play and/or recognize ISO files. Is the correct? That limits your ability to get cover art and have the nice interface that Plex is known and used for. Although I would love to use Plex, this is a major limitation as about half of my movies are in ISO format.

I'm setting up my HT now. I have many binders full of dvds of movies I've rented and copied over the last couple decades. Like 100's of them! I love the idea of those movies being on a computer and being accessible through plex. No dvd player or dvds needed anymore! BUT... how do I get all the content of those DVDs on to a computer? Do I need to actually physically put each on in to the computer and copy it? That would take months. And what if the computer just dies like computers always do? What happens to all the movies and content on the HD? Or is it all safe in a "cloud" somewhere? School me.

i will buy the cx tomorrow! I have a question. Will i be able to play downloaded movies with atmos from my pc network in LG and then passthrough them through to my receiver? i know that i will need shield for dts.

Hi, Raf! Don't know if you are aware or not, but if set up right, Plex can download and show movie posters or DVD covers on your library instead of all the random screenshots that show in your movie list. Not only does it look better, but it's a LOT easier to find the movie you want. You can also manually change to a different poster if there is more than one choice.

Do you have a plex export to show others your collection? I'm trying to build my own, with my goal to one day have one of the largest collections of movies ever, and I'm noting down a long list of movies to pull from.

One problem with Plex and 4k hdr. It can’t transcode it properly. It will strip the HDR and the 4k transcode will be washed out. One plus is hellohue plug in. It will turn ur hue lights on and off on movie start or stop.

Im having trouble playing 4k UHD rips to my xbox or fire cube. Which equipment are you using NAS, and how are you connecting everything?

@therafcave When I try to play my 3D movies in Plex I see the side by side video but my TV or Plex won’t let me use the 3D function to be it into 3D mode. Is there something in the TV or Plex settings I have to change? It works fine if I play the file on my computer through my TV though. Am I doing something wrong? Or change a setting in my Marantz receiver?

Have you figured out a way to get Plex to play Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. I can get Atmos thru my computer, but no DV. I can get Dolby Vision on my AppleTV, but no Atmos. AppleTV supports DV and DA, but not the Plex app for some reason.

It stutters on my high end pc so I just switched to universal media server. Great program if it works flawless on your network though

I'm running my plex from a computer and streaming it from Apple TV....it lags a little....do you run yours from a computer?? Any suggestions???
