Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

Special Thanks to Natan and Bobby

The Bukharian Jews are a Mizrahi Jewish sub-group of Central Asia that historically spoke Bukharian, a Judeo-Tajik dialect of the Tajik language, in turn a variety of the Persian language. Their name comes from the former Central Asian Emirate of Bukhara (now primarily Uzbekistan), which once had a sizable Jewish population. Bukharian Jews are of Persian-Jewish ancestry, though they are considered one of the oldest ethno-religious groups of Central Asia and over the centuries developed their own distinct culture.

This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.

By the way the translation of the first sentence is incorrect, the woman does not have a lung disease, the correct translation is, ‘she is tired of her husband’ the word ‘Shösh’ in our dialect is husband, short for the Persian word ‘Shavhar’

The sample text is a comic and parodic conversation between the wife and the husband

Here is the correct translation

The beautiful Miriam, who was fed up with her husband, and had not seen a single happy day from him, said to him: 'I hope that God will take my soul so that I can get rid of you.' Her husband Jacob ׳the folded׳ who was frightened by her words said: God save, God save, Miriam dear, why do you say these things, how can I live without you? If this is the case then I hope that immediately after your death God will take me too! Miriam responded to her husband's response, 'If that's the case, then immediately after you die I will ask God for a favor to bring me back to life

This is normally Tajik language, there is no difference except some a little Jewish expressions (Shalom Aleikhem, Shabbot...)

It was really great and interesting. This language is completely understandable for Persian speakers (Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan). And of course, it has similarities with other Iranic languages.

I am a Tajik from Ghor province from Afghanistan, but our ancestors were Jewish as they told us, by the way still Jewish fortresses exist in our village. ☺
