Are you thinking of keeping a few of the bronze turkey hens ? Because I have heard of people successfully breeding a bronze hen to a smaller turkey tom like a midget or royal palm, and successfully raising crosses for future use. Acourse with a midget it would be funny to see the hen larger than the tom.

Our whole farm is fenced, but things still get in and do cause problems, mostly dogs. We have had 2 problems in the past year with local dogs running free. We have hawks, owls, and coyotes but they don't seem to bother them. Raccoons would be a big problem except I put my critters in at night.

Hi there I was going to get some Turkeys till I heard or read that you couldn't mix the chickens with the Turkeys do to the Turkeys carrying a sickness which would mess up the chickens ...now that I'm seeing your Video it makes me wonder what the "Ell were they talking about your birds seem so healthy .. have you had any problems with them making each other sick just wondering ??

There is a disease called Blackhead that chickens can carry, from what I know it does not effect the chickens but can kill turkeys. I have never had any problems, my chickens live in a clean enviroment and have been disease free. My turkeys are happy and thriving, I hope that they continue to do so, I know that in the past both my grandparents had farms with both birds with no problems. Good luck.
