I know this vid is old but, I’m finishing the game right now and all I can say is, it’s maybe the best solo game I’ve ever played. The idea of delivering things may be a bit boring at first, but all those technologies, informations and story are truly a masterpiece. You can’t simply get bored while playing it.
Hats off to Kojima and his team for this wonderful experience

If Kojima made an anime, it’d be a Bizarre Adventure

I think Kojima created one of the most interesting apocalypse scenarios ever....not a nuclear one, a virus one, a zombie one, an alien one, or an environmental one...but a *PARANORMAL* one ! I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this in any fiction!

Well, except maybe “Blasphemous” but that’s kind of a religious apocalypse...also a very unique premise, btw

5:08 Die-Hardman isn’t a repatriate just a normal human, hence his name. When he dies he dies hard

The thing is, I did the wrong thing and listened to what others said about the game when it was released. about a year or so later I tried it, and now my lesson is learnt. Regardless what people say about a Kojima game, will purchase it regardless!

I figured out the role of Monster Energy within the Lore of this game!
Whenever I drink some, within a few minutes I seriously need to run to the bathroom to empty my bladder.
Its all just a ploy of Bridges to get my bodily fluids!

SPOILER (3 years later): Sam isn't the biological son of Bridget Strand, he was adopted by her. Sam is the biological son of Cliff Unger, and was the BB Cliff was trying to rescue, which is why Sam has such a major connection to Lou as well as Cliff in his nightmare visions. It was actually Amelie who gave him the gift of repatriation when Sam died as a BB and went to the Beach while Cliff was trying to smuggle him out of the facility.

I love this video, but I've got a correction. Sam's blood isn't lethal to BTs because he has DOOMS, it's lethal to them because he's a repatriate.

Death Standing isn't a video game, it's an experience... A truly rare, AMAZING experience.

Biggest problem with this game is the fact that the majority of this game we dont learn really any of this in a good coherent way

I wasn't very enthusiastic about this game when it came out, though it was in recommendations in PS Store so I've decided to give it a try on my new PS5. Frankly, for a very, very long time, it was almost non-stop WTF. Carrying an unborn baby in an artificial womb on my chest? Having grenades, made of my excrements as the only way to deal with enemies, really? %) DOOMS? MULEs? Chiralium? Walking by foot for 10+ minutes long to loose all my cargo in a river?

But then... Then it started to uncover. Slowly, but WTFs started to turn into WOOOW(!!!)s.

All this hallucinogenic stuff started to make sense, a great story kicked in, and I'm so hooked with Death Stranding like I wasn't with any other game ever.

This game is a masterpiece. And Kojima is a genius.

wait but diehardman isn't a repatriate or some kind of doom, he just afraid of dead and always getting his ass saved by Cliff.

and you guys should mention about the first void out in manhattan, that's the first time human saw BT.

Mule isn’t an acronym it’s usually used to refer to those running illegal shipments ie “drug mules” etc

I didn't ever think of MULE as an abbreviation. Simple as that: mules like donkeys carrying cargo. It seems to me in any case that Kojima isn't that creative when it comes to names. Sometimes the names are way to literal like Sam Porter Bridges being a porter working for Bridges or Heartman being called after his heart stopping every 21 minutes. Other times the names feel too constructed like Higgs (effect) or Fragile (cargo). I don't know what that guy is smoking but I wanna try it.

The cosmic dread in this game is insane. The heavy emphasis on the fact that the universe wasn’t supposed to exist, but then not only it exists now but has intelligent life, consciousness and universe is constantly trying to return on nothingness is just wild. And also, concept of souls is real. And that there’s an actual world for the dead, that death is just a change of phase, but consciousness stays intact. There’s so much we don’t know, like who made ee’s, even the beach, tho connected to consciousness, but is a real place that exists out of 3 dimensions

"I've never done psychedelics", Kojima stated.
