👉 Learn how to write the equation of a polynomial when given rational zeros. Recall that a polynomial is an expression of the form ax^n + bx^(n-1) + . . . + k, where a, b, and k are constants and the exponents are positive integers. The zeros of a polynomial are the values of x for which the value of the polynomial is zero.

To write the equation of a polynomial, we write the given zeros in factor form and expand the product of the factors. Thus, given a, b, . . . as zeros to a polynomial, we write the equation of the polynomial by expanding the factors (x - a)(x - b) . . . = 0

Your videos are super helpful. Currently a sophomore in university. Didn't learn anything in my math class, so here I am, reviewing for my final with your YouTube channel. Much thanks!

Literally my teacher explains it the most difficult way for me to understand. I know it's how he taught himself but my brain just somehow can't consume the information like that. Thank you so much for your help!

nothing, I am writing the formula when given the zeros for this problem but I should have written p(x) at the end instead of 0. The formula is correct you take the zeros and write them as factors then multiply

After 3 months of being confused, it was this easy this entire time? And the video didn’t even make me want to cry.

Don’t know if you’ll ever see this and I know you get this a lot but THANK YOU!!! I HATE when teachers give teach us how to do a problem but make it so complicated or they just don’t explain it at all. You are amazing

This was tremendous help, the simplicity in which you break it down to allowed a breakthrough to occur and I understoood it!

Just want to note, the solution you give to the question produces *one* polynomial with those roots, but there are infinitely many more. I get that this is an intro lesson, but it's important to consider that there are way more degrees of freedom.

d*X^a(X-3)^b(X-4)^c is valid for any integers (a, b, c) > 0 and any real number d != 0. You could also add as many complex roots as you like without breaking the requirement that it has at least roots {0, 3, 4}

Thank you so much! My teacher likes to assign things for homework that she didn’t explain so this was very helpful in understanding this.
