Cheers, just ordered their new 181 MIG yesterday, I will agree about buying a cheaper TIG especially if you are a beginner/part-time AC/DC TIG welder, It is nearly impossible to learn on the cheaper machines, and you will get frustrated, waste a fortune on materials and your time, just put my cheaper TIG up for sale and going to order a new R-Tech 171 TFT Digital AC/DC TIG Welder as soon as the old one sells, great video by the

Really enjoyed your insight, I am retired now but have a 3:1 to thermal arc 181i fabricator but only use the MIG and MMA side. I'm looking at getting a TIG AC/DC welder so I can bring Aluminium into my work projects. Previously some 30 to 40 years ago in a sheet metal and engineering company I used TIG to weld Cast Al cylinder heads that needed repair where the water jackets had worn off the police triumph dolomite sprint cars and other Al sheet metal fans upto 6mm thick wall. Also lots of S/S & Copper which I hated because of the fumes. Watching your video has made me realise I need a 221tft as I was looking at a 171tft and it looks like this machine with it's new technology will make getting back into TIG a breeze many thanks just one comment but not a criticism on the tilting back of the digital display, tilt the inverter back so the screen is more visible, maybe a new rack needed. Once again thank you for the video as sometimes I need to burn some 4mm E7018 & E6013 for materials where I need multi pass and possibly the 171i would not of a good enough duty cycle just as my thermal arc doesn't on TV he current values of the welds of over 150 amps

Massive thank you!! I've just bought my first tig welder a 171, similar welder. Been playing with it over this season break but for the life of me couldn't get it to work 😂 all new to me so thought I just had a setting wrong. Melting out the tungsten and now I've looked and I too have put the earth and torch the wrong way!! Finally found my answer thanks to you!

Cheers for this video im going to order one . Im a mechanic mot tester not a welder by no means but can work a MIG and have done for the last 10 years and built recovery trucks, drift cars / roll cages etc loads of chassis/Corrosion repairs over the years but although i understand the physics of tig welding i don’t know how to so this machine ticks all the boxes . Yeah they are pricey but im about to build a new comp car. Will need tons of fab work done between intercooler pipe work . Inlet manifold . Exhaust etc to be able to make that instead of buying it all the welder will become free quickly. Looking forward to learning to Tig!
