I'm surprised you didn't compare it against the xduoo stuff. To me this is a much more compelling budget option than the mt 601/mt 602. As of now with the 15% coupon it's around $56USD. This costs less than the both of those models and saves you enough money to buy another set of tubes if you want to try rolling.

I really didn't like the mt602 and returned it, even though it seemed popular. I figured I'd rather get the Vali 2 from Schitt for a few more dollars if I was going to get a hybrid amp or just save up and buy a real one.

Is the gain stupid high like the xduoo? I also like the second set of switchable inputs and according the FX they have a circuit to suppress pops when plugging/unplugging.

Thank you for your excellent review, I'm looking forward to buy this product but I'm having a question about the imbalance output while using it with sensitive IEM like the Dunu SA6, so I would love to know where was the volume to achieve the balancing? Was it too loud for sensitive IEM when achieving balance?

Great review. Got this when it 1st came out, and it had this hi-res sticker on the top. Which made no sense at all. Glad they got rid of it. This little tube amp makes my HE400SE sound perfect.

Might get this for a smaller print. Was planning on getting a hybrid tube with those toroidal transformers so I can use them with speakers as well. What do you think, will iems work with something as beefy as that ported through an ifi iematch?

Mine came with counterfeit NE5532 op Amps so it's crap. Fortunately, they have sockets, so I replaced the fake NE5532's with real NE5532's and instantly notice an improvement in sound quality. If you hve ever measured a fake NE5532 you will see they have a higher noise floor and a poorer response. I had high hopes, but is the first and last time I will purchase another FX-Audio product.
