Make a 1G1R ROM set - One Game, One ROM

I have created 1g1r manually and it took me 2 hrs. for GBA, GBC and NES
I used search button for that
If I'd knew this before, it would've saved me a lot of time

Something I'd love, though I don't think exists is live-updating 1G1R. So for games that aren't present it keeps all versions, while for those that are present it would just keep the version that exists. (For example, I mainly collect EU/UK PAL, but I have some German and French releases of games.)

Retool by unexpectedpanda does a better job at creating 1g1r dats. The problem with doing it this way in RomCenter is that Romecenter doesn't choose the best version of a rom, it simply chooses the first one that it runs into, so you might end up with strange roms like "kiosk" demos. That's what happened to my GBA game collection when I tried it this way.

Hmm. This trimmed my Mega Drive collection from an insane 3, 240 down to 409. There's only one version of Street Fighter II, I know that's not right. Seems I might have got the wrong DAT file or was a bit too enthusiastic with the filters.

What if we don't want to delete roms and just build a separate collection? I don't need fixing, just copy or moving. Cart sets are tiny these days.

Let's say I want to have 1G1R of only proper games, should I keep all Aftermarket, Unl etc games? Do you know which tags indicate garbage games/homebrews that should be excluded to achieve a rom set of 100% real games, I'm still not entirely sure what all those tags really mean yet.

I have the Mame 0.273 DAT and the Mame 0.273 merged fullset, if I unpack all the roms from the merged pack at the same time I won't have space on the HDD, is it possible to create a clean and complete set with only 1 rom from each region for each title and remove hacks, betas, proto and only all titles released until 2001?

Quick question, I’ve seen both Romcenter tutorials and was wondering if I’m using a no-intro set and want 1g1r is it preferred to do the no-intro dat process first and then go back and select p/c file to do 1g1r after? Or would simply doing the 1g1r process fully take care of everything for me?

But the P/C only downloads a TXT and the DAT version does show regions but 1G1R is greyed out
did I do something wrong?

How does Romcenter compares to EzRO-gui to create a 1G1R set? From a superficial view it seems like Ezro-gui would be easier to use?
