The last couple of days illustrate to me that there have been far too many "sprint" stages in this year's Tour at least. Imo it's far more interesting watching breakaways and seeing rounded riders duke it out over the terrain than it is seeing pure sprinters trying to expend as little energy as possible for as long as possible and just do one explosive effort at the end of the race.

It's been particularly bad this year as the prospect of a bunch sprint on a flat stage has suffocated the race, as the non-sprinters have been completely disincentivised from trying any opportunist attacks since they feel the sprinters' teams will just wipe them out.
