Ever heard of the secret Soviet bunkers in Moscow, Russia? Today we show you one of the most top secret Russian bunkers in history...

We've finally finished our cross country Trans-Siberian Railway / Trans-Mongolian Railway journey and made it to Moscow, Russia. In today's episode, we take you 55 floors below ground into Bunker-42. An old Russian command hub during the Cold War.

We then lighten up the afternoon by heading to the Soviet Arcade Museum in Moscow. While Soviet-themed, the museum is a lot of fun and well worth the visit.

Nice intro guys. Interesting experience to explore a secret Soviet Bunker and learn about the history. The arcade looked like a whole lot of fun and would be right up our street. So cute that you didn't understand the dial phone - they are a throwback to our childhood in the 1980's!! Great win on the claw grabber - they are notoriously hard to win on!

Ha!))This is not a bunker but only tourist attraction for now.Just right after new government and army bunkers were built, the Bunker 42 became an atraction. This is how our army get money from tourist, lol.
If you want to see the REAL nuclear bunker, you can just enter the Metro during the late evening. All Soviet metro systems are also a big bomb shelters. Every undeground station(which are usually very deep) and tunnels equipped with speacial blast doors, air and water filters, supplied by food, water and medicines for 2 weeks.
Every month the metro personell have Civil Defence drills.According the instruction we have 15 minutes to get into the metro after the sirens switch on. 15 minutes later - the big steel hermetic doors will began to close, sealing the station from the surface. Police have right to shoot into the crowd if they try to overrun it or block it(however in fact this heavy construction driven automaticly will close anyways no matter how people will try to block it).
Every undeground station will be sealed from the surface as well as tunnels. All the trains will be driven as close to the station as they can, or at least they all will be driven into the tunnels behind the blast doors. Every station can host 2000 people on the platform and short segment of the tunnel near the blast gates. All emergency systems(electric generator, air and water filters will be switched on). At the moment of the blast all the stations will be isolated by the blast doors-even from the tunnels. Just right after the blast the tunnel balst doors will be opened and tunnels will be checked(water, radioactive, chemical containmination, e.t.c.). If everything is fine-the doors between tunnels and stations will be opened. Than, after the 2 days after the blast the speccial recon squads formed by the policemen and metro personell equipped with the dosimeters and gund will go to the surface via special gateway(every station have it). They will check the radiation above, fires, ruins, chemical containmination and possible survivors(there will be not so many of them).
After 2 weeks all the survivors will be evacuated via metro tunnels to the rural area.Or stay inside in case the nuclear winter beginns.
