Researchers are attempting to get 24-drones to communicate and act as one. The Naval Postgraduate School in California have gotten the drones talk to each other over WiFi once up in the air and have programmed the drones to determine who the leader is while the other drones follow 50 meters behind. Researchers ultimately want to get 50 drones working together in a “swarm” so they can complete something meaningful. Margaret J. Howell and Nik Zecevic take a look at drone technology and uses on The Lip News.
