What does Eshet Chayil mean?
Показать описание
The Hebrew words eshet chayil translate to "woman warrior."
Proverbs 31:10 "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies."
A "wife of noble character" is actually a 'woman warrior' or female warrior when you translate it directly from the Hebrew.
There is no mistaking what chayil means because all the other instances in which it is used in the Bible relate to wealth, power and war. We see "virtuous woman" used a lot to refer to the woman described in Proverbs. We have been taught that virtuous means a person of good character or with admirable behavior. But, in Old English it meant powerful. We have a great example of this in Luke 8:24 But Jesus said, "Somebody touched Me, for I perceived virtue going out from Me." In the Greek language "virtue" is dynamin (as in dynamite) - POWER.
