Amazingly I was having a similar conversation with a workmate recently about the book Unbroken, and how the movie fell so far short by not including Zamperini's transformation after his conversion. It is a very moving and powerful book, thoroughly researched and footnoted, written by an author who has endured personal struggles with her health. As Mr Klavan writes in The Truth and Beauty, everything is more beautiful when Christ is at the centre of it, and therefore, not at its best when He is excluded. True of literature and the arts, as it is in life.
