I've been wearing my Zenith Defy Skyline for five months now and I'm crazy in love with it. My Daily is the Explorer, but as soon as I put the Zenith back on my wrist, it's just... Wow! The feeling it gives on the wrist is incredible! I love this manufacture, it is a brand intended for enthusiasts - connoisseurs.

If you want unbiased reviews, this is the channel to go to. Awesome video Alexander, it clearly shows you appreciate the watches and not the hype. Zenith for me, stunning watch.

I have had the worst AP experience ever. I wanted AP watch, went to the boutique, ordered one (they had literarly 0 watches to sell in boutique), payed 30 000 upfront and was promised my watch in 3-4 months. 10 months later I still did not get the watch, every employee I spoke to (phone or in person) was acting arogant and with no interest when I asked (not complained) about the delay. Had to get lawyers involved, because when I requested money back after 10 months they refused. Long story short, I was walking the same street as the AP in Prague has its boutique and I got myself Breitling Superocean, Zenith Defy, and Rolex Daytona for less, than AP I wanted. Never going to AP ever again.

Zenith is definitely the way to go if you are watch fan, AP is nice as show off but not worth the stress (money/wait). Thx for vid!!!

Alexander, firstly, thank you so much for time and effort on these presentations. You are one of the best timepiece channels out there by far! I actually just picked up a blue dial 15300. I have yet to receive it and hope it is everything I imagine it to be. The Zenith Defy line is amazing! I may pick up the opaline dial with the green rubber strap. Thanks again!

I am picking up a brand new unworn defy, with the blue dial tomorrow from a private seller here in Dubai for a very very good price. I found this review just to be sure I'm buying a quality timepiece. Thank you for the breakdown it's super in depth and helpful. You absolutely sold me on my decision . The defy is absolutely gorgeous, the 10 second counter is still something of a anomaly to me but I guess that's a feature that makes this a very special piece.

I swear Alexander is God status when reviewing watches unbiased! I love how he does not agree with paying gray market prices, I respect that. Thank you Alexander for your awesome videos.

I absolutely love your videos. I think the Zenith is the perfect watch for me. I love everything about it. Great value for the money.

I’m proud owner of the Skyline and can confirm the high quality, features like the 10 second hand, additional rubber bracelet or dial. Of course the AP snobs are unhappy to see such a great brand as Zenith offering high quality products for a fair price and (on very top) a better availability than AP. So why should i care about AP RO if i don’t want to spend 3x more and basically can not get it?

Great insight on both timepieces!!! Thank you. Obviously if available at retail I’ll take the AP Royal Oak. However, a Zenith is bang per buck for what it offers. The AP movement is beautifully decorated yes, but it will be expensive to service. You can’t wear an AP as a daily beater. The Zenith movement has a basic finishing, but the movement is robust and accurate. Zenith’s strength is in its movements. Enthusiasts buy Zenith for the reliability history heritage. It’s a watch for watch nerds that know Horology. The Royal Oak is for a well to do sporty guy that likes a high end sports watch when he doesn’t want to wear his Patek Philippe watches. It’s a haute Horology weekend watch. It’s perfect for a Monaco lifestyle. To be honest I would take both in a black dial if it didn’t have a date…. and if I had the money for both. For now I’m ok with my Rolex Explorer 36mm Speedy Pro, & JLC Reverso mono face large small seconds. My perfect 3 piece combo meal deal.

''AP fan boys''...i love it🤣 I am not an AP fan boy, nor Zenith fan boy....i'm Omega and H.Moser fan boy😬 So i can (from neutral point of view) say that Zenith made a fantastic job with this watch! So good that i am considering to buy it. AP Royal Oak is legendary watch and it's great, but i don't see that this Zenith Defy Skyline is a lesser watch in any regard except the finishing on the movement and gold rotor.

Hallo Alex schöner Vergleich der beiden Uhren. Für den Grau-Preis der AP kaufe ich mir einen gebrauchten 911er und die Zenith dazu da hab ich noch mehr

honestly, if i knew nothing about watches and was told that Zenith is $30k and AP is $8k, I wouldn't dispute it. But I guess it goes for a lots of other brands comparing

Hi Alexander, Great Video as always - AP I cannot afford at all, just dreaming. With Zenith it should be for me first the El Primero with the Chrono in Orginal size of 38 mm - the history of Charles Vermot saving the tools, dials and design drawings of the El Primero Caliber in the seventies is so wonderful and thrilling - history at the wirst. But first saving money - quite difficult nowadays. I am enjoying the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80, blue dial - just some 650 Euros and terrific looking like the ones you are presenting here. And also Swiss Made - so, Bravo Tissot!

The AP is wildly over priced on the secondary market any way you look at it, and borderline for me at MSRP. The Zenith is one of the most underrated watches that exist. I have the Zenith Defy Skyline and it's top tier quality for a fair price for such quality. I hope Zeneth remains underappreciated as it keeps the prices down!

I really appreciate and enjoy your review. In my opinion, the Skyline is the best integrated bracket in its category, and there are at least 26 different type of such integrated bracelet watches across all price categories. If the AP Royal Oak is the benchmark, then Zenith Skyline can offer its owner 90%-95% of the satisfaction and enjoyment, without being subjected to the law of diminishing returns. If someone has to pay 100k to achieve the 100%, then he/she clearly has different priorities in life. No doubt, at retail price, anyone here would buy the AP if available to him/her. Life is too short to only wait for "perfection". And speaking of "perfection ", I noticed that the screws at the case back of the AP does not line up like those on its bezel. Lastly, the date change at 12 is something I appreciate very much too. Cheers Alexander, and looking forward to your next review.

The only thing that would have made the Zenith perfect to me is, they should have added the traditional 60s hand also. The 10s and 60s hands moving would look very cool, and be more practical, and further show the complexity of that el primero movement. Having said that, I still purchased the Defy. I do wish more knew the RO copied the Defy...

I"ve owned both of these watches (15400 RO and Black Zenith Skyline) and the RO is unquestionably the better watch. The finishing on the case and dial, and movement decoration alone make it a better watch. However, given current prices, the marginal gains you get from the RO aren't worth the inflated prices. Plus, I think the Zenith seconds hand (although admittedly useless) is a pretty cool element that gives the Zenith its own unique twist on the overall Genta-esque design.

If rappers never rapped about wearing an AP people would probably look at it and say, Meh. The dial is fairly basic IMO.
The Zenith is the smart buy if you dont care about flexing or signalling your wealth to people.
Objectively there's a better finish to the AP but is it worth 3X more. No way.
Id buy the VC Overseas every day of the week and you get over 260yrs of pedigree with that purchase. It a no brainer.
Be good to see an AP v Overseas comparison.
Great video.
