"Blue Turning Grey over You" is a 1929 jazz standard. The music was composed by Fats Waller, with lyrics by Andy Razaf. Fats Waller recorded the song for Victor Records on June 9, 1937.

Another fantastic Fats Waller tune which I'd not heard before - he wrote many that he sold on when he was hard up and which became hits under somebody else's name.

Another song I can add to my favorites. Songs like these make me happy 😊. A question though: Where do the altered lyrics originate from? I think 'that's when I was your lover, now baby you just found another' works so much better than the original 'that's when I was a novelty' which didn't sound quite right to my ears.
