Obama, Van Rompuy, Barroso on EU-US Summit

he is president of the european counsil not the president of the EU. it is very difficult for the people to chose a european president. besides dont hate the guy he was chosen as first "president" because he is a neutral character and speaks all the main languages of the eu: german, french and english. and he has experienced leading a cultural divided country (belgium). these are things a european president must have.

exactly! he was chosen - not elected! And belgium is a failing state! And the EU heads in this direction as well!

i agree belgium is a failing state, but then again it is divided in 2 major language groups (and alse political divided). you can not know how that is unless you live there and even then. (another exemple would be israel- palestine, and we all know how well that goes). If you can negotiate between those parties then you can negotiate betweeen the parties on european ground. and EU is having problems because after WW2 we became to dependend of the US
