Yg paling dirugikan suhu tinggi adalah elco. Masa pakai elco makin pendek kalau suhu lingkungan kerjanya tinggi.
Sewaktu merancang tataletak PCB, sebaiknya elco ditempatkan jauh dr komponen2 lain yg menghamburkan panas. Andai tidak memungkinkan, berarti alat yg dirancang harus dirawat secara teratur. Elco2 yg _'terpanggang'_ harus diganti secara rutin walau belum rusak.
