Imagine having the great career of Eddie Murphy and letting David Spade’s words get to u that u hold such a grudge. Glad he came around tho. One of the classics

In many cases, good for the hosts/cast members
They shouldn’t do a sketch they’re uncomfortable with

"Murphy didn't want to kick Cosby when he was down"?! Seriously, wtf. 🤮🤮

Keenan was right with his proclamation. He was playing all the black female characters and celebrities.

Given Chevy Chase’s reputation, it’s ironic that he was the only cast member that Louise Lasser _did_ want to work with.

Actually, Sinead O’Connor’s infamous appearance was her _second_ SNL appearance; her first appearance was the premiere of the very next season.

Not Surprising Steven Segal was one of the absolute Worst Guest SNL ever had.

Murphy also didn’t return to Snl for so many years not due to spade’s joke. Remember he was on the show when Lorne wasn’t there. His entire run was during when Lorne had left.

Kenan Thompson needs to be mentioned up there with the likes of Eddie Murphy for their impact on the culture

Heard somewhere that Seagal's name is actually pronounced "SEA-gal", but someone once mispronounced it as "sea-GAL", and he thought it sounded more sophisticated, so started making everyone pronounce it that way from then on. . .

The Elon Musk episode was just bizarre. If he didn’t own Twitter, he probably would have been banned from it by now.

For whatever reason George Carlin wasn't in a sketch on the first debut show of SNL but he did do stand up and introduced Musical guests and was more like a MC. He did a monologue. Second show was Paul Simon with special guest Art Garfunkel. Mostly music but there was a taped segment where Paul took on a NBA player in a hoops contest. Marv Albert was involved. He won and in the closing was presented with a trophy. Rob was the third host. It felt more like a variety show on his episode.

Like they always say, you just don’t get along with everybody in the workplace

Why do they pick hosts that they can't work with? It's not like these celebritities magically turn out to be jerks once they are on set. You know ahead of time if a celebrity is a diva.

Adrian Brody comes to mind and Milton Berle.

Laraine Newman's rationale sort of confuses me. Just because you play recurring characters, it doesn't take away from your being able to be versatile on other episodes and in other sketches.
Steven Segal, why host if you're going to be a wet blanket? Do you know how many of us would LOVE to be on that show?!! Besides, people know you're ACTING, even if it's silly and comedic.
Nora Dunn and Sinead O'Connor, The Diceman is just a character, an onstage character. While there's much that he's said\says as this character that I wouldn't say and don't agree with, in actuality, as this character, he's making fun of bonehead guys that are truly like this.

"didn't want to kick a man when he was down" - why make it sound like Cosby was a victim of something or deserving of sympathy?
