Hose: Deploy using coil prop

Objective: Deploy minute man bundle using coil prop method

Directions
There are situations that will require a neat and compact charged handline
(highrise, numerous obstacles present, etc.). A coil will allow the nozzle (and
subsequent hose) to “pay off” the top of the bundle and easily be deployed to a desired location. Stairwells and tight hallways will make good use of this technique.

Task Steps

1. Lay the shouldered bundle of hose down on the ground. The
bundle should remain secured, if possible, until it is on the ground. This will help with
keeping the hose as orderly as possible.

2. Kneel at the bundle and remove straps, if necessary. Slide the nozzle
close to your knees. Beginning with the first loop of hose, pick up every
loop until the last loop is reached.

3. When every loop has been gathered, lift and separate them
from the rest of the bundle.

4. Place the hose gathered in your arms and place your arms against a wall or plop the coil down on the ground. The nozzle end of the hose must be coming off
the top of the coil.

5. Place foot on nozzle, Charge the line.
