We live in Mammoth Lakes CA, and we had an a record snowfall this last year. You can imagine how wonderful it is after dealing with all that snow to be planting a pea called "Mammoth Melting"! Love the irony!

I grow the most beautiful zucchini and summer squash plants and get lots of blooms but only maybe one squash from each of the two plants.

I learned that you don't have to put potatoes in the ground. You can tes them on top of the dirt. Then cover them with 6 inches of cut grass or straw . Keep them covered as the season goes on or in containers. I am growing then in containers in my basement with a grow light dehumidifier and a Small heater.

I planted radishes 3xs last yr. One after the other ! Remember u can plant many veggies over again . I got my first crop in by june 1st and things like lettace, radishes, carrots etc I planted 2 plantings. Radish n lettace 3 plantings and I'm in mich . Also plant sweet corn 2 weeks apart for each row. That way you can eat off one row n another will almost be ready to eat the next. I got 4 rows of corn I ate all summer. Basil also grew easily ! So good.

Butternut squash has always been easy for us. Of course, our weather and soil may be a good fit for butternut.

How do you get the potatoes to produce potatoes larger than a golf ball. I've tried them three times and am pretty discouraged about my harvest.

I am trying to sprout sweet potatoes to get a start on planting. Instead of sprouting the potatoes are growing LEAVES. How should I plant them into soil now?. It's still too cold outside so I need to plant them into a pot.

Great list!
Sadly, I can't grow zucchini well. I planted two plants and got leaves but no zucchini. I did plant patty pan squash and had a few. I will try zucc again in a different lication, but if it doesn't yield anything, bye-bye zucc veggie...🤣

I know this is off topic. I am scared to plant outside this spring because of the chemical spills in Ohio. I am in Western KY and receive water from the Ohio River. In Louisville they are already speaking of consequences to the event. Any advice you could give would be helpful.

Very interesting indeed, are there potatoes that does better in limited spaces like containers better than others? Or are they all pretty good about managing spaces for productivity accordingly?
