Onboard the Nissan SKYLINE GTR LM (1995)

Jump onboard the Skyline (R33) based GT car, the NISMO GT-R LM. This epic car raced at Le Mans in 1995.
The car was bought out of the NISMO Zama Museum to perform some laps of Fuji Speedway at NISMO Festival.
In 1995, this No.22 car (H. Fukuyama/S. Kasuya) was 10th overall and 5th in its class. It was modified to 2WD (FR) drive, a better choice for heavier vehicles and unlike the No.23 car, it was powered by a Group N specification engine.

Love it, even if the car was outgunned by opposition that time. It still fight with bravery, what I like is that at Le Mans, the pit crew takes time to clean the "Keep the dream alive" slogan and Nismo logo during the pit stop.

Brilliant car that was entered into the wrong class at Le-Mans. Against the Mac F1's and Ferrari F40's this car never stood a chance.

Nissan should have done what Chrysler did with the viper, modify the car to GT2 specifications, the R33 GTR would have been very successful against the Vipers and 911 GT2's

I have photos from that very day as my desktop wallpapers! The two GT-R LM cars on one monitor, Tsuchiya standing before the Advan R32 GT-R on the other. Lovely to see that there's actual footage from that day, Thanks Nismo TV! Any in-depth footage you might have in store for us all? :-)
