We’re living in the era of distributed systems. Our "digital economy" is mostly built upon them, providing IT with capabilities unlike anything we were used to, but also raising a number of architectural concerns.

In this context, “Mesh” has become one of the biggest buzzwords out there, postulating patterns such as the “sidecar”, as well as an equally distributed "control plane" to manage the moving pieces of our ecosystems without centralization.

When it comes to service integration, Service Mesh and its supporting technologies are an appealing choice to put some order into the chaos, thus facilitating the resolution of concerns such as security, discovery & configuration.

In this session we'll explain service mesh whilst also looking into common use cases, patterns and challenges. We’ll also take time to discuss the most popular options out there such as Istio, Consul or Envoy.
