To set the record straight, RCS Messaging supports End To End Encryption and while Google implemented Encryption for use on Android, Apple elected NOT to on iPhone. Apple can still fix this.

Another way is using RCS messaging if you don’t want to use a 3rd party app. As for making phone calls, you should be using VOIP style encrypted call apps. Regular phone calls are really unsafe. If you have an iPhone and are calling another iPhone user, use FaceTime audio, as an example.
