Having a higher sample rate or "more snapshots" doesn't mean the sound will be necessarily "higher quality", it means you can let higher frequencies through the filter in a converter without it being subject to aliasing.

There are 3 original source files when recording in digital. Theres Wav (pcm), Aiff (pcm) and Dsd (pdm).

I got the the PCM-D100 to record Nature Sounds. The Quality is mind blowing. I record all in DSD (DSF-files). Still looking for a good converter to WAV though if I want to include them in my projects, as Ableton does not support the DSD format. What would you recommend?

This sounds like advertising. Let me guess. He sells DSD somewhere.
He could have sold it better if he said it’s a better sound. But no, he had to go saying it’s a way better sound by a lot. Lol i listen to DSD. It can be better. But only slightly. Only in some albums it can sound way better such as ABBA sourced from vinyl.

Direct Stream Digital is interesting to me as a potential way to encode digital audio onto an analog format and still have it play on an analog player.

All of my SACDs have DSD printed on the cover. Does that mean SACD is the same as DSD or is there a difference?

ALAC Isn't used on any streaming sevice.... Apple uses ACC... BTW There is no difference between FLAC and ALAC, , , I am refering to the audio format explained, its in the link full guide.

Why can't we buy only one or two songs from an album in high resolution audio instead of buying the entire mean similar to buying tracks on iTunes or Google play music?

Cool! I just ordered a Topping DX3 pro+ which has DSD512... look forward to hearing it when I get around to buying some DSD albums. I got a plugin for foobar2000 that apparently uses DSD so not sure what that's about... I have a pretty good FLAC collection some in 24 bit 48 or 96khz.

whats the merit of trading bit depth, 1 bit instead of 24 bit, with sampling frequency millions of hz instead of 96khz?

Thanks for that I have just bought a Denon 110 Anniversary SACD player and I know that it plays these sort of CDs although I don't actually own any. I already have a good collection of SACDs but I am missing a couple of artists like David Bowie and Michael Jackson that I would like to add to my collection.

Good and clear explanations but WAY TOO FAST. Why should you give it in 2 minutes? I think you could had taken 3, use less audio compression and maybe a better microphone. Content is good but sound is just sticking on my nerves! I don't any bashing intention. I have respect for your works. But don't you target audiophiles community? Certainly not AM radio listeners...
