I have heard this story a few times before. In one version, the Op and ex-wife did not want children and were going to travel all over the world in lieu of having a family. That is why the OP travels all over the world after the divorce. The OP is a non-Christian and his wife is a Christian. The AP is also a Christian. I think the ex-wife feels guilty and knows by her faith that she is in the wrong. This is why she is essentially saying sorry or asking for forgiveness by not contesting the divorce. She and the AP are trying to clear their consciences by not asking for any money or assets. For me, the OP acts more Christian than either of those two. Affair marriages are only 3 % successful, even though youtube makes it seem like they are much more.
