I'm no electrician, this is just how I did it.

I've since been told that I should be using 60 amp fuses, and not 40amp. I have these on order as we speak.
The cable should be in conduit, and there's a proper place to connect it to the start up battery un the red plastic cap on top of the battery.

In this video, we show you how we Install the Victron B2B Battery Charger.

Hello and thank you for the video. Currently also my motorhome has the services battery not connected to the chassis of the vehicle. In order to use an uninsulated DC-DC, like yours, I would like to connect the services battery with a properly sized cable to the chassis ground. Do you see any contraindications to doing this? Both battery are 12v.
What problems might I have?
Thank you for the feedback. Angelo

I’m sure you’ve sorted it by now. But I think I saw somewhere that the 30amp charger is too big for lead acid battery. Maybe that’s why the settings weren’t there in the app. I think an 18amp charger may have been more suitable. I may be wrong.

Hello, is there a way to limit the current? if I have a Li Ion battery to charge, that can take 200+ Amps, how can I limit the output current in order not to blow the fuse or overcharge the alternator, charger, cables?

It should be a 60amp fuse both sides of the charger and you really should put that cable in conduit. Also if you take the red cover off the top of the battery there’s a proper mounting point for an auxiliary line rather than connecting to the bolt for securing the battery terminals.

I follow along with your van restoration from video number 1 but this week you lost me, I would be no good helping you out with the electrics, I was baffled.
