Nebi Samuel - the tomb of Prophet Samuel.
Situated northwest of Jerusalem, nearby Ramot Neighborhood. It is one of the best viewpoints in the area and provides a magnificent view of Jerusalem and its surroundings, as well as the capital of the
PLO - Ramallah.

The tradition goes back to the Byzantine era when it was first identified as the tomb of Samuel. In the Crusader era, it was here that the Crusaders overlooked at Jerusalem for the first time. It brought a lot of excitement and joy to them and therefore they named this place - The mount of Joy.

They built a fortress since it is a strategic point that controls the area, especially the roads to Jerusalem.
The major part of the building is a Crusader phase, but in the 18th century the muslims built a mosque on top.

today there's an active mosque as well as an active Synagogue. It is considered a national park and it maintains by the national parks authorities.

We love this place and in a bright day we believe that this is a great viewpoint to start or summarize every tour in the area.
