I think the biggest pro for audiobooks is it accessibility for people with disabilities. This include people with poor vision, people with dyslexia, and people who physically cannot hold a book.

I love both! We love being able to check out Kindle books and audiobooks for free from our public library! We bought the very first Kindle when they first came out in 2007, and we share a family account with our grown kids. We have about 2500 Kindle books, most of which cost us less than $3.00.

My favorite is the link between Audible & Kindle in which you can buy the book & have it read to you as you follow along while it highlights the words as you go.

Since the way I learn is through reading and highlighting and notes/making summaries, nonfictions i use kindle and kindle learning features. For fictions or entertainment based books i use audible. If I absolutely love a book I'll buy the hard copy to collect my favs

If you wanted to listen to audiobooks you're actually better off downloading the kindle app, when you buy the ebook they offer you a really discounted price for the audible narration, which both together are often cheaper than buying the audibook alone. I recently purchased an e book from kindle for $7aud then it offered The audiobook for $3aud. And if you have the audible app it automatically transferrs it to audible aswell. No audible subscription needed. Btw that same Audiobook alone was $38 for non members and obviously for members audibooks are no more than $15.

Me personal I prefer audio I literally do what You said people probably won't do I literally sit down put my earphones in with A Cup of coffee in the morning and relax on my porch and listen to a book It's real relaxing for me because it's like I can put myself into the pages more and I can Escape. Another thing if I'm on the go I can easily just pull out my phone and listen to it rather than with a Kindle I have to make sure that is charged and it's another device to carry around right alone just having my phone knowing that I'm going to end up keeping my phone charged so I can just be on a go.

Thanks Nick! You didn't mention using the Kindle to read non-Amazon marketed books in EPUB form. I get these from Project Guttenburg (public domain titles) and from various other publishers. I use Calibre - a free software product for PC (don't know if there's a Mac version) to manage these titles and get them on and off the kindle. These titles won't show up on your Amazon account, though you can download your Amazon titles into Calibre and just manage everything from there, if you like. Also, Barnes and Noble, an American bookseller, markets their own e-book reader called Nook - a competitor to Kindle that has been around for a long time. A tablet computer like the iPad can give a very similar reading experience with the Kindle app installed and has the added advantage of letting you manage your library with one device.

Hi Nick, really enjoyed this video, exactly what I was looking for and like your views on reading, had a look around your channel and really love how much work you’ve put into the videos. You deserve this channel to grow and just want to encourage you and wish you all the best! A lot of time and effort must have gone into writing and editing and I know what it’s like waiting for a channel to grow. Keep up the great work and hope you get to where you want to go!

It’s best to be fully informed. Kindle unlimited is definitely able to read to you just as well as audible.

Great video and thanks for sharing, I love Audible, I love to go for walks when I'm listening to books, it's great to get out to the freshair and learn at the same time, and I think another benefit is that you can speed up when listening. I actually make notes on my phone but not in the app

I like both...one thing I find is that if you want to tune out your surroundings then the Kindle works out a little better (almost like in a paper book).

Great review, I like listen audible and reading the same time for learning purpose to improve the vocabulary and pronunciations.
The only thing there is no option to listen and read the sane time in Kindle .

Great video! Is there any other apps that is similar to Audible? I just want something that can read to me so that I can follow along with a real hard copy book.

Can someone please advise how to exactly to do this- purchasing an audio book and also having the option to read to you? I’m not a great reader so that’s why I prefer the audible however I do want to follow along with a hard copy book so that I can engage more.

If you use Kindle for foreign language reading, the device integrates with varous, pre loaded foreign language dictionaries to give good, dictionary based, definitions of any word you highlight. I read in several languages and find this feature very useful. Also, while it may be difficult to access foreign language books locally, many are available from the Kindle store or from various other publishers. Many titles are free, particularly in Latin and Greek. Another source of free books is your public library, most of which offer digital borrowing as does the Internet Archive.

For me, you really have to be in a quiet concentration zone when it comes to Audible.
