You should haven consulted teambhp, they have literally daily updates. Bengaluru - Mumbai can be easily done on a full tank in a 5 series itself if you stick to 80 kmph

Speed matters when highway cruising. I have a 8th Gen Honda Civic petrol and have done Pune-Bangalore in a little over a tank of petrol twice. Note that this is a 45 litre fuel tank and I got a 18.5kmpl over the 850km trip. Cruise control on at 100 for more than 60 percent of the trip. Had gotten it done in one tank if I had cruised at 80 instead of 100.
Frequent acceleration and decelerations kill fuel economy and it also dips exponentially when you staft going over 100.
